Exotic Pet advice and surrender

ASOTG and other rescue organizations are often at full capacity with rescued animals.  If we can not take an animal we will do our best to help you find an appropriate home for your pet.  ASOTG does not take injured or orphaned wildlife but we can refer you to a Wildlife Rehabilitater in Connecticut.

Things to ask before you get an exotic?

How much room will it need as an adult?

Can I afford the proper food and care?

Is there an exotics vet near by?

How much attention does it need?

Is it appropriate with children?

Is it legal to own in my town/city?

How long will it live?

Am I ready for this type of commitment?
